Beautiful antique Chinese Export porcelain charger decorated in the celebrated Tobacco Leaf pattern.

The exuberant hand-painted decoration features fanciful birds amid oversized leaves and flowering branches in a vibrant palette of cobalt blue, turquoise, pink, iron red, green and yellow, richly accented with gilding. The scalloped rim is edged in gilt, while the reverse is decorated with delicate floral sprigs in underglaze blue and iron red.

At 12 1/2" in diameter, the charger has wonderful scale and makes a striking display piece.

Condition: Good antique condition with some imperfections, wear and loss to the enamel and gilt decoration, most noticeable within the large pale-yellow leaf, where there is an area of flaking to the enamel, as pictured. The piece retains beautiful color and presents wonderfully.
