Exceptional 19th-century bronze figural inkwell stamped “Mägdesprung am Harz” on the underside, indicating production by the historic Mägdesprung foundry in the Harz region of Germany. Richly cast with classical masks, lion-paw feet, and ornate relief details, it rests on a matching bronze tray with a beautifully decorated border. The hinged lid opens to the original inkwell compartment.
A finely made and highly decorative example of German foundry work—ideal for a writing desk, study, or curated vignette. Gorgeous natural patina consistent with age.
