Exceptional 19th-century gilt metal figural inkwell stamped “Mägdesprung am Harz” on the underside, indicating production by the historic Mägdesprung foundry in the Harz region of Germany. Richly cast with classical masks, lion-paw feet, and ornate relief details. The hinged lid opens to the original inkwell compartment.

A finely made and highly decorative example of German foundry work—ideal for a writing desk, study, or curated vignette. Gorgeous natural patina consistent with age.

Good condition with appropriate patina, verdigris and light wear.
