A finely hand-painted Japanese Imari porcelain charger from the late 19th century/early 20th Century, featuring the Hō-ō, or Japanese phoenix — a symbol of harmony and good fortune. Rich tones of cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt accent intricate floral panels. A beautiful example of Meiji-period craftsmanship and auspicious design.  Very good condition with minor wear.
