A beautifully hand-painted antique Japanese Imari jardiniere , featuring an elegant hexagonal form with a gently flared rim. Rich cobalt blue, iron red, turquoise enamels, and hand-applied gilt decoration combine in a vibrant composition of traditional floral and ornamental motifs characteristic of Meiji-period Imari porcelain.
The jardiniere / planter retains its original drainage hole and displays a naturally aged unglazed interior with expected evidence of prior use. Today it makes a striking cachepot for a favorite orchid, a vessel for dried stems, or simply a beautiful decorative accent on a bookshelf, console, or tabletop.
