A handsome early 20th-century mahogany display cabinet in the English Georgian taste, raised on cabriole legs terminating in ball-and-claw feet and embellished with carved foliate ornament to the crest, apron, and knees. Glazed doors and side panels provide excellent visibility from multiple angles, while the damask-lined interior and two beveled glass shelves offer an elegant backdrop for displaying porcelain, silver, books, or treasured decorative objects.
The cabinet retains its original Shaw Furniture Co. plaque, identifying manufacture by the Cambridge, Massachusetts firm, which was active during the early decades of the twentieth century, particularly the 1920s and 1930s.
Dimensions: 60.25" H × 30" W × 17" D
