Striking vintage Italian balance scale featuring a carved marble column and stepped base, paired with an ornate brass balance mechanism and suspended brass pans. The warm, aged brass is particularly beautiful against the creamy veined marble.

Both decorative and sculptural, this is a wonderful statement piece for a library, study, kitchen, or collected interior.

Vintage condition with age-appropriate patina and wear to the brass. There is a small chips to the upper rim of the marble column, as shown. The brass pans show surface wear, oxidation, and areas of verdigris consistent with age.
